A computer systems engineer at Siemens recently received an unexpected promotion.
As part of the company’s latest technology change, employees who have worked for the company for three years will get to switch to a new position with more perks.
Siemens said the move was meant to improve the company and help more employees get their foot in the door, and the move is being made to bring more people into the company.
Employees who have three years of service will receive a salary bump from $100,000 to $150,000, while those who have two years will receive $150 and those who had worked at the company three years or less will receive about $100.
Employees who have been working at Siemends office for five years or more will also be able to take a pay cut to $70,000.
The new position will allow more people to move to other departments and help them stay on top of their new roles.
The company has been moving to a more flexible work environment, and is now looking to increase the number of people with full-time roles.
Some employees are also moving to more remote locations and are finding jobs that are closer to home.
The changes, which are part of Siemens’ “new way of working,” will also allow employees to work from home while on the road, according to the company, which said it will “focus on the most-talented people.”
